Just a few things...

- Yesterday at the doctor's office, I got weighed. I was disappointed. I've been diligently doing the 30 Day Shred, playing softball, eating pretty darn well, and I still weigh EXACTLY the same as I did at my 6 week postpartum visit. I honestly feel like I will never, ever reach my pre-pregnancy weight again. And that's frustrating. I'm trying to be positive and keep going, because I am down a pants size, but not seeing ANY movement on the scale is so sucky.

-Have I mentioned that Lizzy is hilarious at games? She's been to one of my brother's football games, and comes to our weekly softball game. She happily screams her head off the entire time. It is super funny.

-Is it a late year for tomatoes for anyone else? Almost all of our tomatoes are still green. I hope they end up ripening up before the frost!

-Yesterday in the baby food isle, I noticed "baby water". I am guessing this is water that is somehow specially made for babies?! No one ever mentioned this to us, so we've always just used tap water. Does anyone use the special "baby water"?

  1. - I hear you on the weight. I've seen almost no movement on the scale, but things are fitting better, which is good, but not loosing weight feels blah.

    - Cute! I always love going to games and seeing kids cheer for their family members.

    - No idea.

    - It's probably just distilled water. Apparently you are supposed to use this if you have well water, extra fluoride in your water and possibly for some other reason. We just use tap water we filter in a Brita pitcher (kept at room temp).

  2. Special baby water is ridiculous. Marketing gimmick. As long as your tap water meets quality standards, you're fine. Better, actually, because it has fluoride that kids need. All my kids have used tap water.

How old is she? Is she a year yet? For me, with my first two kids, the year mark was the special weight loss mark. It's like my body realized that we weren't pregnant, so it could let the weight go. Give yourself time.

  3. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat. So even if you aren't seeing a difference on the scale, you're building muscle while working out.

    We use tap water too.

  4. Don't beat yourself up over the weight. I think it's more common than you think. I've been working out diligently and I've been lingering around the same number - give or take 5 pounds. I know it's my eating. While I'm eating healthy foods, I'm still taking in way too many calories. I just started tracking them on thedailyplate.com and it's super easy. Just type in what you ate and the nutritional information pops right up. It gives you a calorie goal as well. I'm hoping this does the trick! :)

  5. So... maybe this is weird because I never comment, but always think I should so I'm jumping in. I used to go on The Nest all the time and I'm from Oregon so hopefully you remember me!

The tomato thing... I'm in Central Oregon and mine are doing the same thing! They're huge and green as can be! Anyway, my dad told me to pull the plants up before it freezes and hang them upside down in the garage. So, I have no idea if it will work, but I'd really like to get something other than cucumbers out of my garden so I'm going to try it! It's supposed to get cold at night next week so I think I'll be pulling them up this weekend. I'll let you know if it works out!

  6. I would take going down a pants size over the scale moving any day...that's got to feel pretty good, right? We had a ton of cherry tomatoes but maybe only 2 full size ones. Matt said it's about time to pull the garden out.

  7. Hi Meredith, I have never heard of baby water. We use the tap or distilled, I am sure they are both fine!
Good for you for being down a pants size. It sounds like it is working. Hang in there, those pounds will come off!

  8. I have never in my life weighed less at the doctor's office than at home. There has got to be something wrong with those things.

Also, focus on sizes and tone. I know it's a challenge, but it's what really matters.
