Shop With Me...

So, over the weekend, one of the things I hope to do is to throughly weed through my closet. There are already tons of clothes that don't fit me, and they just need to be put away in my new best-friends, which are Space Bags. You know, the kind you vaccum all the air out of? Anyway, I've begun to look for a few maternity clothes. I totally envy all of you that were/are able to spend the whole time in yoga pants and comfy tees. Unfortunately, since my job includes court appearances, I also need some clothes that qualify as business-wear. Also unfortunately, my weekend stuff tends to be MUCH more casual, so I also need some super casual stuff that I can wear on the weekends, and will transition as best it can through the hot summers all the way through January.

To make things even more difficult, I am almost 5'11. Finding pants with a 36 inch inseam was difficult and spendy before. Now, it's absurd. I usually wear a 36" inseam. I have only found ONE online store that sells maternity pants that long (RG Maternity). Still, they don't have many options. Apparently, us tall women aren't supposed to get pregnant, or if we are, we're supposed to live in high-waters the whole time. I can occasionally get away with a 34 inch inseam if I only wear them with flats, wash in cold, and never ever dry them. I now have one pair of dress pants and one pair of jeans from Motherhood, but I'm not sure that will be enough.

Whew. Anyway, here's some maternity clothes that I actually like (but probably won't ever buy because they're too spendy):

PS- Why are so many maternity clothes pink and blue?

  1. I used to work for Motherhood while I was pregnant and believe me, if it wasnt for having the discount theres no way I would have been able to buy anything. Maternity clothes are SO ridiculously expensive!! I also had to have dress clothes for work, I felt like towards the end there I was just rotating the same 5 outfits. lol Its hard to find things u like.

  3. check target clearance. Sometimes they have great deals. Also, ebay? Maybe check and see if they have a second hand shop for kids and mommies. It might save you a bit on your wallet and you're only gonna wear them for a few months. GL!

  4. I love the new look. I feel like I will be back on blog land now that Lars is out of the country. Maybe you can get some good maternity clothes for your birthday??

  5. They're pink and blue so you can let the world know the sex of your baby. Kind of like gang colors.

(I really have no idea. But that sounds plausible to me.)

Just be glad you don't live in Europe. I tried to buy shirts and what not there and apparently, their fat people have to go naked. Granted, there are a lot less of them than here, but shiz.

  6. I know nothing about being pregnant but if I were you, all my weekend wear would involve long flowy dresses. That way you never have to worry about the pants being long enough. As a fellow tall woman, I know how big of a pain in the rear it is. As far as work stuff, I have no idea. Good luck! I am sure you will find some cute/affordable options :)

  7. Dude, I feel ya with the can't find pants that are long enough. I'm so not looking forward to wearing highwaters when I do get pregnant. It's not fair! Plus I'm a weird shape and so it's very hard for me to find dresses that fit. We can start our own new business - long pants for pregnant women.
